Glass-filled nylon injection molding is a plastic processing technology mainly used to produce various plastic products. The main material involved in this technology is glass-filled nylon, a composite material made by adding glass fibers to nylon materials, which has good mechanical properties and thermal stability.
Glass-filled nylon injection molding production process
Glass-filled nylon injection molding is not much different from traditional injection molding. The main thing is that the injection temperature and pressure need to be adjusted appropriately.
1. Prepare the required raw materials before injection molding, including nylon materials and glass fibers.
2. Feed the plastic material, nylon and glass fiber into the hopper of the injection molding machine, and after heating and plasticization, they become liquid plastic.
3. The injection molding machine injects liquid plastic into the pre-designed mold. The plastic cools and solidifies in the mold, and is finally demoulded to obtain the finished product.
Problems with glass-filled nylon injection molding
Problem 1: Partial carbonization or scorching of injection molded products
Cause: It is caused by the heat generated by the compression of air or other volatile gases in the mold during high-speed injection molding.
Solution: Optimization can be performed by adjusting injection speed, mold temperature and other parameters.
Problem 2: Insufficient filling during injection molding may lead to a decrease in the mechanical properties of the product.
Cause: The amount of material added is insufficient or the design of the filling system is unreasonable.
Solution: Increase the amount of feed or optimize the design of the filling system.
Problem 3: Injection molded products have material blooms
Cause: It is caused by the aggregation of glass fibers.
Solution: It is recommended to use a twin-screw extruder for granulation and select reinforced glass fiber suitable for nylon. Coupling agents or compatibilizers can also be added to improve the surface effect of the material.
Problem 4: Injection molded products have dents
Causes: Due to insufficient filling or insufficient feeding amount, improper gate position or gate asymmetry, insufficient or too small runner or gate, uneven wall thickness of the product, etc.
Solution: Increase the amount of material added, adjust the gate position, increase the number of runner channels or increase the gate size, adjust the mold design or increase the injection pressure.
