Custom plastic boxes involves multiple steps, from design and mold making to the actual production process. Universe Plastic Factory will introduce the manufacturing process of plastic boxes in detail:
1. Design plastic box
When using computer-aided design (CAD) software for 3D modeling of plastic boxes, you need to pay attention to:
Consider the size, shape, thickness, functionality and aesthetics of the box.
Confirm material selection (such as PP, PE, ABS, etc.) and consider the performance and cost of the material.
2. Prototyping of the box
Manufacture plastic box models via 3D printing or CNC. Conduct actual use to verify the feasibility of the design and ensure the strength and functionality of the design.
3. Mold design and manufacturing
Conduct detailed mold design based on product design, including design of mold cavity, gate, cooling system and exhaust system. Use CAD and CAE software to optimize mold design to ensure flow and cooling effects during the injection molding process.
4. Mold processing and debugging
Use numerical control machine tools (CNC), electric discharge machining (EDM) and other equipment to process the mold, and perform heat treatment on the mold to improve the hardness and wear resistance of the mold. In the later stage, the assembly and debugging of the mold need to be carried out to ensure that all parts of the mold fit accurately.
5. Prepare for mass production
Prepare appropriate plastic raw materials and confirm the quality and performance of the raw materials. Dry the raw materials to avoid moisture affecting the quality of injection molding.
6. Injection molding machine debugging
Confirm whether the specifications, clamping force and injection volume of the injection molding machine meet production requirements. Carry out debugging of the injection molding machine and set injection molding temperature, pressure, speed, cooling time and other parameters.
7. Injection molding production
Install the plastic box mold on the injection molding machine and perform the injection molding operation according to the set process parameters. The plastic raw materials are heated and melted in the injection molding machine, and then injected into the mold through high pressure. After the plastic melt cools and solidifies in the mold, open the mold and use a robot or manually to take out the finished plastic box.
8. Post-processing and quality control
Conduct a visual inspection of the plastic box to ensure there are no defects such as cracks, bubbles and deformation. Necessary post-processing is required, such as trimming the burrs and flash edges of the plastic box, spraying, printing or hot stamping, etc., to ensure that the final product meets the requirements.
9. Test
Conduct dimensional measurements to ensure product dimensional accuracy meets design requirements. Carry out functional tests, such as sealing, pressure resistance and other tests.
Through the above 9 steps, Universe Plastic Factory can mass produce high-quality plastic boxes to meet customer needs. Each link requires strict control to ensure the quality and consistency of the final product.
